TV Cabo reinforces contents and focuses on digitalization

Funtastic Life was presented today, a new package of channels which will bring to you even more entertainment, movies, series, documentaries, children’s programs and music to TV Cabo. This reality is only possible through the strong focus on digitalising the network.   

Fox, Fox Life, Discovery Civilization, Discovery Science, Discovery Turbo, MTV 2, MTV Hits, MTV Base, VH1 Classic and Nickelodeon.

These are the ten new channels which will be available to all Digital TV Cabo clients from the 19th of May, with Funtastic Life, a new TV Cabo service which will reinforce their programming and content bring a wider range of contents in terms of entertainment, movies, series, documentaries, sports, children’s programs and music. Selected according to client preferences, the Funtastic Life costs 26,40 euros/month.

For Zeinal Bava, Executive Chairman of PT Multimedia, these tem channels have only become a reality due to the team effort between the various areas of TV Cabo and the partnerships between Fox, Discovery and Viacom.

He added, “Our success will be their success. I’m counting on the support of our partners to adapt our range to the Portuguese public”.

Digitalization: more contents, more functionality, more security.

The power box, is once again the entry to this world of fantastic emotions, which is a result of the digitalization process that began in 1999. Besides having more security and more contents, the digital service offers you functions such as Multicameras and Multigames, and services such as the Welcoming Channel, the Guide and the Programming Bar or Video on Demand (VOD).

This is also the moment in which TV Cabo is preparing to digitalize the Premium service until the end of the year, by substituting the analogical TV Boxes for Digital Power Boxes. The disconnecting of the analogical signal from the Premium channels will be carried out by geographical area as the substitution of boxes is carried out where TV Cabo will support the costs for the substitution of the boxes where provisions have already been made in the 2004 accounts.

The digitalization process also implies a greater security in the entire TV Cabo network in the area in which it allows for more efficient encryptions which leads to a greater protection of the audiovisual industry.

The preparation of the network, the development of the set-top-boxes and the focus on more contents and functions, in an investment of 110 million euros, are the base of this process which makes digitalization a reality for all TV Cabo clients.
 
Happy, the new Lusomundo Channel

At the press conference in which Funtastic Life was presented to the media at the Pavilhão Atlantico in Portugal, in the presence of various managers of PT Multimedia and TV Cabo, Lusomundo Happy was also launched.

With an ensured presence on channel 53, from 9pm on the 19th of May, the recent Lusomundo family member will include various types of comedy, adventure, and cartoons as well as a thematic programming dedicated to the world of movies.

Included in the Digital offer and available to Premium, Action and Galley clients, Happy will have it’s prime time at 9pm and will be made up essentially of premiers from the 60’s.

 
Lusomundo Happy will be on the air to all clients with a Power box from the 19th and the 23rd of May, time at which you will be able to re-see “The Lost Inheritance”, “The Lost Temple” and the “Great Crusade”, “Austin Powers – the Mysterious Agent” or a marathon of Asterix and Obelix films. You will also not want to loose the Indiana Jones Trilogy with “Raiders of the Lost Arc”.
