PT Comunicações lowers the cost of calls made to mobile telephones
Saturday, September 03, 2005
PT Comunicações has lowered the cost of calls made from the fixed network to mobile networks. This reduction covers all mobile networks and came into effect yesterday at midnight, the 7th of March 2005.

With this reduction, PT Comunicações continues with its policy of benefiting its clients every time costs of end of call on mobile networks fall. This is what happened yesterday, following Anacom’s deliberation.

The cost of the initial minute is still 0,1309 euros for TMN and Vodafone and 0,1660 euros for connections to Optimus.

The cost the minutes thereafter has fallen to 0,2916 euros during weekend and public holidays, and 0,3392 euros during normal hours for connections made from the PT fixed network to TMN and Vodafone. Other than this, the start of the economical schedule for calls made to TMN and Vodafone has been brought forward from 10pm to 9pm. Calls made to Optimus will now cost, for the subsequent minutes, 0,3868 euros during the economical schedule and weekends, and 0,4463 euros during the normal schedule.

The cost for connections made from the fixed network to Optimus is still high due to the fact that the mobile operator charges more for the termination in fixed-mobile connections than TMN and Vodafone.

The connection costs in this case, are the costs that PT Comunicações are charged by the mobile operator.
