Wednesday, October 19, 2005

The Rock in Rio-Lisbon is back for the biggest party in 2006 and SAPO will be present. The Parque da Bela Vista in Lisbon will receive the second edition of the largest music festival in the world. On 27th and 28th  May, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of June, all roads will lead to the City of Rock.

The Gala for the launch of Rock in Rio-Lisbon was a true success. People took part and animated the party. Even though it was a “Gala” party, the environment was spectacular with performances by Jota Quest, a Brazilian band which has been confirmed for the World Stage, 2006 edition. With a pop/rock sound, no one resisted to the call made by the music of Jota Quest which was also assisted by a special performance from Ivete Sangalo and Tim, lead singer of Xutos & Pontapés, two other names which have already been confirmed for  Rock in Rio-Lisbon 2006.

The entertainment at this party was also afforded by Tocá Rufar that, with its drums acted out a duel of sound which echoed throughout the space and made you quiver from the sound of the drums. Giants passed through the crowd in an exhibition of colour and balance. Other guests were also present at the party and got to know some of the details of the next edition of the world’s largest music festival.

The entire “Gala” was shown on SAPO XL. With some similarities of what happened in previous editions, the organisation will donate a portion of the profits to some social solidarity institutions in Portugal. Throughout the five days of the festival, some of the greatest National and International names in music will pass by the City of Rock, and these will be received by more than 500 thousand people with an average of 100 thousand expected every day.
