Following the increasing need manifested by its clients and due to great satisfaction demonstrated by most of those who already use this means, PT Comunicações has now extended the possibility of any client with an analogical telephone line to view the phone number of who is calling.
The history of CLIPa in PT Comunicações, can be summarised in the following steps:
- In 2003 the analogical CLIP was massified for clients connected to S12 stations (one of the 2 types of Public Stations that serves the country);
- As of September 2004 the Analogical CLIP comprises the network line basis package (all new lines receive CLIPa);
- As of 1 May 2006, the massification of the Analogical CLIP at EWSD is a reality.
In record time, the technical area of PT Comunicações was able to attribute this means to around 1,17 million clients who still didn’t benefit from it yet.
With this service the clients, with analogical access can see the number that called or is calling if they have a telephone compatible with this service (any equipment with screen), and they can benefit from other advantages:
- See the telephone number of a waiting call
- Have permanent information on "missed calls"
- Use of PT Comunicações SMS and MMS services.
- This new means has the aim of democratising the use of the CLIPa Service and it is in harmony with Portugal Telecom that is concerned with the continuous development of projects that aim at contributing towards the improvement of the quality of life of the populations.
