TMN presents new mobile telephones for Christmas
Thursday, November 02, 2006
With a lot of colour, design and technology, TMN presented, at “Eleven”, a restaurant in Lisbon, the new services and equipment which will be available this Christmas. As well as revealing new mobile telephones, Zeinal Bava, Chairman of the Board, also spoke of TMN’s strategic focus: to increase market share through betting on the convergence of service.

The mobile telephones that TMN proposes for this Christmas were the great attraction at the presentation of the product portfolio which took place yesterday at the restaurant “Eleven” in Lisbon. Of the 28 equipments presented by eight worldwide manufacturers, ten models are exclusive to TMN. Among these, we highlight the LG KG800 Chocolate which is already an international success and which now arrives in Portugal. The Motorola W220 and the Samsung E250 also stand out because of their quality, elegance and design.

It is important to mention that TMN portfolio has mobile telephones for all tastes and prices. One can choose between the most technologically advanced equipment such as the HSDPA (3.5 generation) and 3,6 Mbps internet. There are also mobile telephones which stand out because of their design, those which value more music and photography and those which are essentially aimed at professionals. For clients who want simpler services, there are also solutions for everyone. In declarations made to éPT!, Luís Avelar, Executive Director of TMN, confessed to have some favourite mobile telephones. He highlighted the Motorola W220, the Samsung E250 and also the Chocolate model by LG. In a more female perspective, Filipa Nascimento, the operator’s Marketing Manager, spoke of the design efforts which Motorola has come to develop and also complemented on the efforts in image made by LG.

Zeinal Bava, Chairman of the Board

To make the most of the potential mobile market in Portugal, TMN is making efforts in the convergence of services, especially at a time when the mobile telephone is indispensable, “an extension of our own arm”, as Zeinal Bava, Chairman of the Board, mentioned.

The most recent studies revealed that 58% of the minutes which are spent on the telephone are made from a mobile telephone. However, there are still consumers who still prefer to use the fixed telephone in their homes. To correspond to the communication needs of consumers, TMN initiated innovative market studies to “listen to what the clients want”. With these indication, the operator decided to bet on broadband and data services, in terminals (mobile telephones” and in homezoning/Casa T services.

Even though it promises more advantages in the future, Casa T from TMN is currently the most attractive offer on the market. Once the service has been activated, one can, from the mobile telephone, call the fixed network or TMN free of charge as of the first minute and with a monthly subscription of only 5,90 euros.

After this and other initiatives, such as unlimited traffic until the end of the year for their broadband clients, TMN continues to search for differentiation in the market by presenting more and better services and equipment which are more integrated and which may simplify communication.
