Sport TV in High Definition on Meo as of 1 November

Meo will start the broadcasting of Sport TV1 in High Definition mode – still in test phase – on 1 November. During this phase, cost-free for Meo IPTV and Satellite customers, this channel will be available on position 23 of the programming grid
As of 1 November Meo IPTV and Satellite customers can watch Sport TV1 HD. This channel will broadcast, in High Definition mode, the same programming as on standard Sport TV1, featuring a sound and image quality four times superior to the standard definition. Meo customers will be able to watch live the emotion of the great classics of the Sagres League and of the main European leagues as well, enjoying a television experience closer to reality. On a first phase, the channel will be in a test phase and will be cost-free, on position 23 of the programming grid.
Both platforms – Meo Satellite and Meo IPTV – are prepared to broadcast the HD signal and Meo customers are equipped with a set top box prepared to receive HD channels.
Currently, Meo’s programming grid offers three High Definition channels: Eurosport HD, National Geographic HD and Luxe HD. The Meo VideoClub also offers several HD films, such as “Cloverfield”, “The Kovak Box”. “In the Valley of Elah”, “No Country for Old Men” or “I am Legend”.
With this channel’s broadcasting, the Meo platform will include an even more diversified offering in terms of sports channels, where Sport TV, four Eurosport channels, Brazilian PFC, Americans ESPN Classic and NASN, AB Moteurs, Motors TV, Yacht & Sail, and the television channels of the five major European clubs: ChelseaTV, BarçaTV, Inter Channel, Man United TV and Real Madrid TV.
The Meo offering also includes the much awaited Benfica TV channel, which will continue to broadcast UEFA Cup matches taking place at Benfica’s stadium. Benfica’s matches with Galatasaray on 6 November (experimental broadcast) and with Metalist on 18 November are already programmed.
