The initiatives developed by PT aim to contribute to combating leukaemia and simultaneously to the goals of APCL (Portuguese Association against Leukaemia). Your contribution is also important for such purpose.
On 25 June, at the Sapo Auctions page, the SAPO Portal will start to auction pieces and works offered to APCL by a number of personalities from the arts, sports and culture world associated with this cause. The auction is already underway, although a few more pieces will go on auction in the nest few hours. The auction will take place online until 2 July, the date of the Concert.
Among the works to be put on auction, which are on display at the BES Arts and Finance Centre at Marquês do Pombal Square, one may find a guitar autographed by Sting, an original painting by Graça Morais, works from sculptor Francisco Simões, the first gold CD award won by Mariza, a double platinum CD by Luís Represas, a gold CD award by Camané, one of the shirts worn by Luís Figo during his last match for Inter Milan, among others.
On 2 July, the day of the concert, Portugal Telecom will provide a value added telephone line – 760 207 080 – the value of whose calls will go entirely to the association.
A PT contact line will also be available – ‘Solidary to the marrow’, active on 2 July from 10 AM to 11 PM. People wishing to contribute with a donation to one of the account numbers below may do so through that contact line – 800 221 221 - free call from every national fixed or mobile number.

In parallel, Sapo will provide an exclusive site for this action, containing a quite comprehensive range of information on the work developed by APCL (Portuguese Association Against Leukaemia) and on this initiative.
The site of this initiative will be hosted on Sapo. Several internet access points will be made available for visitors to access the Internet and participate in the auction.
This is another initiative with which Portugal Telecom is associated. The funds raised through these actions and the concert, with motto “Solidary to the Marrow”, will be used to keep financing over the next two years the main activities of the Portuguese Association Against Leukaemia (APCL), namely to continue and to reinforce their support for the registry of bone marrow donors and the three national histo-compatibility centres; support for scientific research programs with concrete results in the discovery of new therapeutic processes to treat leukaemia; and contribute to the restoration of the house where Mário Cesariny lived, donated by the Lisbon Municipality as future APCL headquarters.

The 4th Solidarity Concert will take place on 2 July, with the presence on stage of tenor and conductor José Cura, Mariza, Luís Represas, Rui Veloso, Camané, Pedro Caldeira Cabral and Los Calchakis, all accompanied by the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra and Lisboa Cantat Choir. It will be presented by Catarina Furtado.
There are a thousand new cases of leukaemia detected every year in Portugal. The solidarity concert will be one of the high moments of the activities developed by the Portuguese Association Against Leukaemia for fund raising. The sums received will be used for leukaemia treatment and research and to raise the awareness of society for this cause by registering as potential bone marrow donors.
Join this cause as well and attend the concert that will take place on 2 July, at Pavilhão Atlântico arena. Catarina Furtado will present the show that will count on the presence of José Cura, Tenor and Conductor, Mariza, Rui Veloso, Camané, Luís Represas, Pedro Caldeira Cabral, Los Calchakis, Portuguese Symphony Orchestra and Choir of the National Theatre of São Carlos.
