Zeinal Bava was honoured with the ‘Best Investor Relations by a CEO’ Award. ‘Investor Relations & Governance Awards’ is a Deloitte initiative sponsored by Diário Económico newspaper, aiming to honour all those who have contributed most to financial information quality in several domains benefiting shareholders, investors, financiers, and remaining agents.

The 23rd edition of the Investor Relations & Governance Awards took place last 2 July at Beato Convent in Lisbon. Portugal Telecom was nominated once again in categories ‘Best Investor Relations Officer’ with the selection of Nuno Prego and ‘Best Investor Relations by a CEO’ with the selection of Zeinal Bava.

“This award goes in the first, second and third place to the entire PT team”, said Zeinal Bava after receiving the ‘Best Investor Relations by a CEO’ Award.

Bárbara Guimarães presented the Investor Relations & Governance Awards gala. The event awarded the financial agents who established new patterns of excellence throughout 2008.

Zeinal Bava was considered the best CEO in Investor Relations, Cláudia Falcão from Jerónimo Martins was honoured as Best Investor Relations Officer, Bruno Miguel Silva from BPI Bank was the Best Financial Analyst and Diogo Leónidas Rocha from Garrigues Portugal was the Best Lawyer in the Financial Market.

The best Annual Reports in the financial market were also honoured, namely Millennium BCP and BPI, and Galp Energia in the non-financial sector. CTT won in category Best Annual Management and Governance Report in state-controlled companies, and Águas de Portugal and EDP received Honourable Mentions. The evening ended with the Lifetime Achievement in non-financial markets award conferred to Américo Amorim.
