TMN and Sapo customers may now surf the internet three times as fast as up to now. After the announcement of the internet access pilot at 21 Mbps, TMN and Sapo have just launched the respective pre-registration at www.tmn.pt enabling their customers to acquire mobile broadband boards featuring speeds up to 21 Mbps.
Through this new way of using mobile Internet, based on HSPA+ (High-Speed Packet Access) technology, TMN and Sapo customers will be able to access mobile broadband with download speeds enabling for example the download of a tune in just 1 second. The new boards, featuring speeds up to 21 Mbps, allow three times as much speed as until now (7.2 Mbps). To carry out the pre-registration, TMN and Sapo customers will just need to access website www.tmn.pt.
Besides the registration for the new boards, TMN and Sapo customers will also be able to pré-register for the 14/21 Mbps download speed, allowing the immediate access at speeds up to 14 Mbps, and soon up to 21 Mbps. This new tariff will enable customers to enjoy upload speeds up to 5.8 Mbps, much faster than the current 1.4 Mbps. The monthly download limit of the 14/21 tariff is 6 GB.
It is worth recollecting that the quality of PT’s mobile broadband service was recognised twice this year. According to an Anacom survey, TMN features the best and most reliable performance, showing a 100% success rate in the delivery of the contracted download speeds. At the PCGuia magazine reader awards, TMN was honoured as Best Mobile Broadband Access.
