Sapo 2009 Awards are back

The reception of applications for the 9th edition of the Sapo awards are open since 6 October. The Big Creativity Fair promises a lot of novelties.

This year under the theme ‘Big Creativity Fair’, the Sapo Awards have a lot of novelties to show: new categories, new prizes and the participation of Angola and Cape Verde in the competition for the first time.

The growing diversity of formats and media in association with campaigns advertising products and or services has brought a lot of novelties to the 2009 edition of the Sapo Awards. The deadline for the reception of applications ends on 6 November. This initiative is an excellent opportunity for media agencies to present to the market and to the media professionals the best works advertised in the digital world.

The Sapo 2009 Awards aim mostly to honour creativity and the adaptation of advertising campaigns to new technological paradigms. There will be awards for creativity and media diversity of agencies, relational marketing and social media.

Applications for the 9th edition may be submitted up to 6 November by agencies or by customers/advertisers. Works and campaigns from 1 September 2008 to 31 August 2009 will be considered eligible.

Presenting a lot of novelties this year, the Sapo Awards will honour works and campaigns in Portugal as well as Cape Verde and Angola, making them a Portuguese-speaking reference.

Applications may only be submitted online at the official awards website http://premios.sapo.pt/. Works should be submitted in digital format only at the time of the application.

Gold, silver and bronze prizes shall be awarded in each of the following categories:

  • Awards by Sector – works will be evaluated by the jury within the respective sector, in terms of creativity and adaptation to digital media;
  • Special Awards – Best Blog, Best Multi-platform Campaign, Best Social Media Campaign;
  • Mobile Award - Mobile Direct (Communication via sms or mms), Mobile Advertise (Communication via banner);
  • IPTV Award- Interactive IPTV, IPTV Spots;
  • Best Relational Marketing Award;
  • Media Agency Award;
  • Recognition Awards – (awarded by members of the Jury) Agency of the Year, Advertiser of the Year, Media Agency of the Year;
  • Grand Prizes – Grand Prize Sapo Users, Grand Prize Sapo Angola, Grand Prize Sapo Cape Verde, Grand Prize Sapo of the Jury.

It is worth recollecting that the sums received with the submission of the applications are donated to a Social Solidarity Institution, not yet selected.
