New channel SIC K is here … Get adventurous
Friday, December 18, 2009
Three… two… one… and SIC K is on the air. The new channel is at position 41 of the programming grid of PT’s television service and targets children aged from 6 to 11 years old.

Circa five months after the signature of the agreement between Portugal Telecom and SIC for the distribution of a new thematic channel for kids, SIC K is on the air to mark the beginning of the school holiday period.

Targeting the pré-teen audience, SIC K presents a programming of reference for this generation. The new channel comprises several nationally produced projects and the channel programming will be almost entirely dubbed in Portuguese, with a few exceptions after 9:30 PM.

“Medellin”, “Sítio do Picapau Amarelo”, “Gormiti”, “Iron Man”, “Mr. Bean”, a Japanese contest, all dubbed by the voices from "Programa do Aleixo" show, “Factor K” magazine and the “Cuisine of Chef André” are but a few of the productions that are part of the programming grid of this channel.

Zeinal Bava, CEO of PT, and Francisco Pinto Balsemão, chairman of Impresa group, counted down to the launch of the channel broadcasts, which happened today at 4 PM at SIC premises in Carnaxide.

This MEO exclusive will be available at position 41 of the programming grid at the IPTV (ADSL and Optical Fibre) and Satellite services. Since its launch, MEO has stood out for its offering in terms of entertainment for children, either through the titles available at the VideoClub or the channels available, having been the first operator in Portugal to include Disney Channel in its base offer.
