Circa 40 emergency plans from all over the country will be available online at the National Emergency Planning System, developed by PT. Any citizen accessing the National Emergency Planning System (SIPE) at http://planos.prociv.pt will learn about 40 emergency plans, mainly municipal, but also at district and multi-district level such as the Plan of Seismic Risk of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, which covers more than a district, Lisbon and Setúbal.
This system is s computing platform where all the second-generation emergency plans in the different territorial plans become accessible to the public, in their non-reserved components, and to the civil protection authorities through a password.
Developed by PT, this system works like a database as it will allow “the rapid consultation of such plans. Every second-generation emergency plan will be available from the time of approval” explains Carlos Mendes, head of the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC).
When accessing the website, the visitor may “understand which criteria lead to the activation of the emergency plan, which entities may intervene in the response and gat the exact notion of the resources in course to ensure the coordination of the different areas, such as logistics, medical assistance or the relationship with the public”, described the service head.
PT-developed SIPE is critical for citizens who gained a tool that enabled them to understand how to protect themselves and what to do in emergency situations.
