SAPO moved forward, being the first Portuguese company to create an application for iPad from scratch. Banca Sapo is included among the very first applications for this device from Apple.

After having become Samsung’s only Portuguese partner, by creating a set of widgets and applications for the new 3D TV sets equipped with Internet@ TV, Sapo, the leading portal in Portugal, presents a new application, exclusively developed for iPad, which will make available every day the front pages of the main Portuguese and foreign newspapers and magazines.

iPad users will be able to access Banca Sapo through the respective icon on the App Store and get to know the first pages of a number of Portuguese newspapers and magazines, as well as several international titles. There will be circa 500 titles available, such as: “Le Figaro”, “El Pais”, “Folha de S. Paulo”, “Paris-Match”, “Courier International”, “Le Nouvel Observateur”, “The Daily Mail”, “La Vanguardia”, “As” and “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.

The first pages will be organised by categories, namely national, sports, economy or magazines, and iPad users will be able to benefit from the application, viewing them in full screen, zooming each one of them or fast browsing all the front pages.
It is worth recollecting that in November 2008, SAPO made available this service for iPhone and iPod Touch, currently having 32,000 users worldwide.
