More than 19,000 Euros to offer dreams
Wednesday, October 13, 2010
The PT Foundation promoted a campaign “Let’s offer dreams” in favour of the Land of Dreams Association, which will receive more than 19,000 Euros to fulfil dreams of sick youngsters.

By buying t-shirts, pencils and colouring books, PT employees helped offer dreams

The commitment will now be accomplished through the offer of 19,120.5 Euros to the Land of Dreams Association, a Private Social Solidarity Institution, which will now be able to fulfill the dreams of sick children and teenagers. PT employees demonstrated their solidary spirit by contributing with 9,560.25 Euros, a value doubled by the PT Foundation, as announced at the start of the campaign.

The joint contribution of the employees and the PT Foundation translates the success of the initiative, through which the PT Foundation proceeds with its mission of promotion of social well-being, benefiting specifically needy or more vulnerable people due to illness or handicap.

According to the Chief Executive Dreamer of the Land of Dreams, Frederico Fezas Vital, this institution “could not be more satisfied with its first experience with SAPO, PT Foundation and PT that also coincided with its first action of match funding.” According to Mr. Vital, “the results speak for themselves but, more than that, the high level of involvement, commitment, enthusiasm, and adherence by all PT employees lead us to believe that, in a stronger way, that in this Land of Dreams that is Portugal there is the potential and capacity to make and to give a lot to the underprivileged when there is a will and dynamism. This experience is an example to be followed. A real case study of solidarity”.

The “Let’s offer dreams campaign” was promoted by the PT Foundation in partnership with SAPO that celebrated its 15th birthday this way, through solidarity. This initiative comprised the participation of employees who by buying t-shirts, pencils and colouring books at symbolic prices enabled the Land of Dreams Association to carry on satisfying dreams of children with chronic diseases and/or diseases in an advanced phase. The campaign was held on 22 and 23 September in the different PT buildings in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Faro and Porto Salvo.
