Standing out once again for its innovation capacity, MEO is getting ready for the 3D broadcast of the 8th event of the ASP World Tour which will be sponsored by TMN between 7 and 18 October in Peniche. You will be able to follow the Rip Curl PRO Portugal Powered by TMN, from the quarterfinals to the final, at position 281 of the MEO channel grid (exclusive for MEO customers with glasses and compatible 3D TV).
With this broadcast, MEO positions itself as the first television operator in the world to ensure the 3D broadcast of a surf event. In order to enable MEO customers to watch the main rounds of the surf event practically as if they were live in Peniche, considering the potentialities of the 3D television experience, the strategic placement of a set of five Real 3D cameras was ensured, inside and outside the water controlled by a specialized team from Medialuso producer.
Whoever goes to the place of the competition will find three Samsung 3D TV sets, with live broadcast, in MEO demonstration spaces, strategically positioned in the area.
The Rip Curl Pro Portugal Powered by TMN may be also followed by Meo Mobile, TMN’s page on Facebook, at http://www.facebook.com/tmn and Sapo Videos at http://videos.sapo.pt/ripcurl as well.
It is worth recollecting that MEO ensured this year the first 3D livecast at the Estoril Open and, for the big public, the exclusive live 3D broadcast of 8 matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. In the beginning of 2010, MEO revolutionized communication in Portugal and launched the first TV spot in 3D, with the usual presence of the Gato Fedorento comedians.
