Environment management systems and policies

PT is strongly committed to environment respect and preservation in order to ensure good living conditions for the next generations.

The entire Group believes that the systematic search of solutions that minimise the impacts its activity on society together with the contributions that the new information and communication technologies bring to the customers will certainly promote a better environmental quality in the future.

Therefore, PT has been incorporating a number of environmental management principles and actions in every company of the PT Group. The respective management systems are certified in compliance with ISO 14001 Standard and are subject to regular audits, both internal and external.

Employees and suppliers are the main targets in terms of training and involvement for proceeding with the defined principles and goals. The environmental management policies and systems of the different PT subsidiaries are based on the following areas of intervention:

Eco–Efficiency
PT’s eco-efficiency information is more detailed and accurate this year, aggregating data from all PT subsidiaries operating in Portugal. Adding to the general goals of rationalisation of consumption of resources and atmospheric impacts, a number of ambitious performance goals were defined last year for the current triennium which forced to re-evaluate, to standardize and detail all procedures associated with environmental management.
