Sapo honoured at Top Choice Awards

SAPO was the Top Choice winner of the search engine category, reflecting the opinion of the Portuguese-speaking communities. Sapo is the favourite search engine of the Portuguese-speaking communities in Europe, United States and Canada. Portugal Telecom’s search engine reached thus the first position in the ‘Search Engine’ category of the Top Choice Awards. Yahoo and Google got the second and third positions respectively.
The surveys are conducted through the Internet at www.EnterVote.com, by telephone and personally. The questions are open to avoid limiting the options in terms of replies from the participants. The results are treated later by a single system to guarantee high levels of accuracy.
The Top Choice Awards aim to promote business and excellence. The people’s preferences are identified through a questionnaire in 20 categories, that is, people’s Top Choices are identified in terms of quality, service, value and image.
In Portugal, the first position as ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ went to Aníbal Cavaco Silva, the winner of ‘Business Personality of the Year’ was Gilberto Madaíl and the ‘Career’ award went to Eusébio. These awards also include categories such as ‘TV Station’, ‘TV Program’, ‘Newspaper’ and ‘Magazine’, among others
TOP Choice Awards is an institution based out of headquarters in Toronto, Canada that acts globally to identify and promote businesses and professionals who have risen above their competition deserving public recognition, as the result of research conducted in several countries.
