Two more Lusophone names have been announced today for MEO Sudoeste: Matias Damásio from Angola on August 2nd and April Ivy from Portugal on August 5th. Both on the MEO Stage.
Matias Damásio is a true phenomenon in the popularity of Portuguese-speaking music. His fourth album, Por Amor, released in 2016, is a blockbuster hit, with the single Loucos (with Héber Marques from HMB) being one of the most played songs in recent months in Portugal.
April Ivy released her first single in 2015, Unstoppable. It was followed by the invitation to record her first album and in February 2016, released Be Ok. A year after making her debut at MEO Sudoeste on the stage dedicated to emerging national talents, she is now preparing to step on to the festival’s biggest stage.
MEO Sudoeste was the first music event to offer free Wi-Fi throughout the venue, the only one in all of the festivals in Portugal, and continues to invest in improvements for all festival-goers in terms of technological infrastructures.
With a clear focus on the diversity of genres and artists from different countries, MEO Sudoeste – which attracted 195 thousand people in 2016 - showcases the best in music at the moment while at the same time receiving, among the various audiences of all ages, hundreds of young people having their first holiday away from home at the festival.
