The Executive President of Altice Portugal is a guest speaker at the ETNO- European Telecommunications Network Operators Association conference, which takes place on November 29, in Brussels.
With the theme of "Is technology the answer to society's problems?", FT-ETNO's Tech & Politics Forum 2021 will bring together European and international leaders to debate the role of technology in the service of modern societies. This prestigious international forum will have a hybrid format and online broadcast, with business executives, NGOs, and political leaders participating.
In addition, there will be a session specially dedicated to the role of telcos in the pandemic, 'Thanks to Europe's telecom operators, the continent kept running during the pandemic. What have telcos and their partners learned from an unplanned experiment in communications?'. Topics addressed at the event are, among others: Europe's vision for industrial technology leadership; the role of technology in sustainability; Digitization can save the economy and, the European challenge of investing in digital infrastructure.
On the side lines of this conference, Alexandre Fonseca has requested a meeting with the European Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager. He intends to pose relevant and decisive questions regarding the national telecommunications sector and bring to her knowledge the worrying situation concerning the implementation of 5G technology in Portugal.
